The annual Village Seniors Christmas Lunch took place on 21 December with 36 people attending for a three-course meal with wine – from the numerous comments received it appears a good time was had by all!
If you did not receive an invitation it is because we think you look too young; if you received an invitation and are not eligible, our apologies. It becomes more difficult to ascertain ages each year and without actually asking people their age, it sometimes feels we are in a no-win situation!
The above event was funded from events held at the pub throughout the year. In addition the following amounts were raised by way of a weekly National Lottery Saturday Bonus Ball, book sales, monthly quizzes, raffles, Christmas card ‘postage’ and donations:
Arthingworth Village Hall £455; Kettering Samaritans £45.30; Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (in memory of Barbara Costello) £460. Donations from Peter Dickens’ 65th birthday realised £210 for LOROS plus £260 for Cransley Hospice. The ‘Breakfast with papers’ morning held at the pub raised approximately £100 for St Andrew’s Church.
